Research about the Occupation of Mount Rusmore related to Native Americans and the American Indian Movement. Essentially, Indians attempted to gain recognition and spread knowledge of their culture and heritage to American citizens in order to attain a place in society. I think it is important to bring attention to the injustice and unfair treatment of American Indians. 

An example of history of the AIM is the Mount Rushmore monument. The movement has considered it a place of illegal occupation for many Native Americans. Despite Mount Rushmore attracting millions of visitors every year, it has also been the site of multiple American Indian protests and occupations.
