The primary objective of each of these activities is to lower society's crime rate. Causes like drug and substance abuse among people and poverty have significantly impacted the criminal justice system. They significantly negatively impact the court's execution of its legislative responsibilities. A distinction between democracy and dictatorship can be seen when a sovereign state has a criminal justice system tasked with protecting its citizens' rights.
