As you write your paper, include the following: What personal, cultural, and spiritual values contribute to your worldview and philosophy of nursing? How do these values shape or influence your nursing practice? Define values, morals, and ethics in the context of your obligation to nursing practice. Explain how your personal values, philosophy, and worldview may conflict with your obligation to practice, creating an ethical dilemma. Reflect and share your own personal thoughts regarding the morals and ethical dilemmas you may face in the health care field. How do your personal views affect your behavior and your decision making? Do not be concerned with the use of ethical terminology for this paper.

Several factors influence who people are as individuals. We are all shaped by our memories, emotions, experiences, and knowledge, which influence our perceptions of people and situations and our ability to reason and judge them. The foundation of an individual's ethical philosophy is the collection of these factors. In addition, behaviors are influenced by a personal philosophy or worldview, which also serves as a motivational and inspirational source. Since the client's worldview is the foundation of their reality, nurses need to consider the client's worldview when developing a holistic care plan for them. Professional nurses must develop a moral compass and be aware of the factors influencing their worldview to provide such care (Burkhardt & Nathaniel 2008). In my own perception, a moral compass is anything that serves to guide a person's decisions based on morals or virtues. Various inspirations, passions, and values that have become essential to my happiness serve as my moral compass (Moral compass, 2011).
